Apple Announces iMovie And GarageBand For iOS Devices
Apple announced iPad’s successor, the iPad 2, yesterday in an event held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Along with the iPad 2 Apple also announced new versions of iMovie and Garage band for iOS 4.3, according to Apple says they have set the bar high for devs with the release of the two apps and hope devs build on what they’ve seen in Apple’s programming capabilities. iMovie on iPad gets a bunch of the same features found in the OS X version. Precision editor, multitrack audio recording, new themes, AirPlay to Apple TV, and sharing of HD videos are just some of the features included. It’s going to cost $4.99 when it releases March 11th. As for the new version of Garageband, it is set to get touch instruments (grand piano, organ, guitars, drums, bass), guitar amps and effects, 8 track recording and mixing, 250+ loops, and is compatible with the Mac version. It will also be $4.99 on March 11th. The two new apps will be available for iPhone 4, iPad 2, and iPod Touch 4g.
