The folks over at Firecore have updated the Seas0nPass tool on Mac that now supports a tethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3. Seas0nPass is like a PwnageTool and Sn0wbreeze which allows you to create custom AppleTV IPSW files and restore them in iTunes. If you are interested in jailbreaking your Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.3 then follow our guide below: Pre-Requisites Jailbreak Apple TV 2G iOS 4.3 With Seas0npass: Step 1: Unzip the ‘Seas0nPass.zip’ file, extract the data to a convenient location, and launch Seas0nPass. Step 2: If your AppleTV 2G is not yet jailbroken, select “Create IPSW.” If it is already jailbroken and you just need to do a “tethered boot” scroll down.) Step 3: At this point, the latest AppleTV software will be downloaded and used to create a custom ‘jailbroken’ software file. Step 4: When you are prompted to do so, connect your AppleTV using a micro-USB cable (leave the power disconnected at this point), and hold both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven second as instructed. Step 5: iTunes will open automatically at this point and start the restore process by itself. Step 6: Now, iTunes will confirm the restore when complete. At this point your AppleTV is now jailbroken. Please proceed to the ‘tethered boot’ section below to learn how to boot your Apple TV 2G. Boot Apple TV 2G in Tethered Mode: Since there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3, we will have to boot it into a tethered mode. This means the AppleTV must be connected to a computer for a brief moment during startup. To do that just follow the steps below: Step 1: Open Seas0nPass and select the ‘Boot Tethered’ option when prompted: Step 2: When prompted, connect your Apple TV 2G to your computer via USB. Wait for the rapid flashing light then connect the power. Once both are connected hold both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven seconds. Step 3: At this point Seas0n Pass will complete the tethered boot automatically. Once complete, remove the USB cable and connect the HDMI cable. As of right now there is no untethered jailbreak released. However, the team is working hard to release the Windows version of Seas0nPass.
