The famous iOS hacker and Antid0te developer, Stefan Esser, has found an exploit to untethered jailbreak iOS 4.3 on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch already. He has posted a video showing proof of the untethered jailbreak running perfectly on an iPad as well. It’s nice to see a jailbreak come out just a day after the official release of the iOS software update as well. Being in alpha stage, the exploit might take time to fully develop but it still is nice to know it is already discovered and just needs time to be usable for the average user. The video proof can be seen below: For those of you who don’t already know, a tethered jailbreak is one that requires you to re-jailbreak your iOS device everytime you completely power it off and/or restart it. An untethered jailbreak is one that will stick even after you restart the device. The untethered jailbreak is the preferred jailbreak by many for obvious reasons and the exploit that provides the solution for the new iOS has been discovered already! It’s just a matter of time until its released and hopefully it will be released sooner rather than later. The infamous iPhone hacker MuscleNerd also tweeted that the iOS 4.3 jailbreak could be released soon with multiple parties working on it together, including @i0n1c (Stefan Esser), the pwn2own contestants, and @comex. Steffan Esser (@i0n1c) went as far as saying that @securetips will be releasing the exploit as early as next week. This was mentioned in a tweet by him earlier: I heard @securetips will release a iOS 4.3 untether exploit after next weekend. Follow him for news. Either way, the exploit is discovered and now its just a matter of time before its released. Time to sit tight and be patient!
