iH8sn0w has just released Sn0wbreeze 2.2 R3 which comes with a fix for iBooks related issues on all iDevices jailbroken on iOS 4.2.1, Sn0wbreeze 2.2 (R1 or R2) allows users who want to jailbreak and also unlock their iPhone to update their iPhone with a pre-jailbroken iOS 4.2.1 firmware while preserving the baseband from getting upgraded so that it can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w. For those who don’t know, Apple introduced a new check in iO’S 4.2.1 which blocks all jailbroken iDevices from purchasing and reading any book via iBooks app. If you will try to open any book though iBooks app, you will get the following error message: There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. Please restore with iTunes and reinstall iBooks. Sn0wbreeze is considered as the unofficial PwnageTool for Windows. Mac users can use PwnageTool 4.2 for Mac. iH8sn0w announced the release of the minor update via the following tweet: I pushed out a small update for sn0wbreeze r3 which fixes iBooks issues for devices that previously didn’t work. If you do not want to restore your iPhone again with a custom IPSW made with Sn0wbreeze 2.2 R3, just download this DEB file and install it via iFile app. Alternatively you can download ‘iBooks Fix’ from Cydia but do not forget to add http://repo.insanelyi.com before searching for ‘iBooks Fix‘.
