Last week discussion of GV Mobile returning to the App Store was hot news and recently, another app has managed to sneak in before Sean’s could for the same purpose. Google Voice apps, once deemed to be unworthy of the App Store due to Apple’s claims that the apps were “duplicating features that the iPhone comes with (Dialer, SMS, etc)”, leaving apps like GV Mobile to shift over to the jailbroken app stores. With recent changes to Apple’s guidelines on getting Apps approved, it appears that Google Voice has come back to our iDevices.

Andreas Amann, the developer of GV Connect submitted his app last week following Apple’s new guidelines documentation for the App Store approval process. Sean Kovac, the developer behind GV Mobile+, which we’ve seen in Cydia, has been submitted to the App Store as well and is awaiting approval.  You can follow Sean Kovac’s blog here and read about the chaos that ensued last year if you missed it.

If you are a big fan and you can hang on just a little longer, or for the small amount of $2.99, go ahead and start making Google Voice calls and SMS Messages with your Google Voice Number.

For a list of the features for the app, check below:
