“Goodbye HP,” was the tweet from Phil McKinney, the chief technology officer of the company’s Personal Systems Group.

The Personal System Group is HP’s PC division — which the company briefly considered spinning off — and on Monday, just days after HP decided to keep the thing, McKinney announced his retirement.
