Rumors from earlier this week suggest that Icy, Ripdevs Cydia alternative that was shut down and made open source after firmware 3.1.x release, is set to make appearance sometime this week. Folks from Infini-Dev Team have been working hard to bring us back our old Cydia alternative, the fast and light-weight Icy. If you are unaware, Icy managed and offered by Ripdevs is a software application just like Cydia. It allows you to browse and download applications, tweaks, etc just like Cydia. Icy (beta) is now available for your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. As of now, Icy has been completely updated to work on iOS 4.x and has entered beta stage. It is being tested for bugs. And since these are no rumours, you can actually go ahead and download the beta version of Icy from the link below. Thanks to Infini-Dev Team for their hard work. [How To] Install Icy on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch: You need to have your iOS device jailbroken using Redsn0w, PwnageTool, or Sn0wbreeze. You can install Icy manually or via Cydia - Install Icy manually: Step 1: Download Icy from here. Step 2: SSH the file to your iOS device, and install it using iFile. Step 3: Reboot your device Install Icy via Cydia: Step 1: Navigate to Cydia and add the source apt.robinofree.com. For iPad add cydia.myrepospace.com/Polarbear Step 2: Install Icy Step 3: Reboot your device. So are you going to prefer Icy over Cydia ?? Share your thoughts by commenting below.
